Questions about choosing a Skylight alternative
What does Family Situation Room cost compared with Skylight?
$29 for setup and your first year. Then $19/year per household. Three years of our software costs $67, and you provide a compatible device. For Skylight, compare its current hardware price plus any optional Calendar Plus membership over the same three years. Check the official pricing links below before deciding. Checkout for Family Situation Room is closed during the pilot.
What does the $29 include, and is the price per person?
It includes household setup and the first 12 months of access for up to two adult accounts. The price is per household. No screen is included. See the launch bundle and connection status for what is ready; child accounts, routines, and rewards are not part of the initial release.
Is there a subscription, and how will cancellation work?
Yes. After the included first year, service renews automatically at $19 per household each year. You will receive a reminder 30 days before renewal. Cancel anytime to stop the next charge; access continues through the paid year. These are the launch billing terms. Checkout and renewal controls are not open during the pilot.
Can I use an existing tablet instead of buying a family calendar screen?
Yes, you can try the public demo in your tablet’s browser. If you leave it on display, you will need to arrange power, choose a place everyone can read it, and manage screen sleep. Family Situation Room does not include a tablet, mounting hardware, or dedicated display management.
Can Family Situation Room replace Skylight's chores and rewards?
The initial release has adult household coordination as its focus. Child accounts, guided routines, and rewards are not included. If your family relies on those tools, compare that limit before switching.
Which calendars connect, and can I move my Skylight data?
For read-only primary Google Calendar access, we are completing live connection checks before public access. Microsoft calendar access still needs live end-to-end verification. Signing in with Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Yahoo does not connect a calendar. We have not announced a direct Skylight transfer. Check the current connection status before setup; employers and schools may block access.
Try the dashboard on your own device.
See a schedule change, who is handling it, and what needs preparing in the fictional sample. Then try your household name and preferred color. The demo does not create an account or commit you to buy.
